You recently stayed in a hotel in a large city. The weather was very unusual for the time of year and the heating / cooling system in the hotel was quite inadequate.Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter:
- give details of what went wrong
- explain what you had to do to overcome the problem at the time
- say what action you would like the manager to take
You should write at least 150 words.

Begin your letter as follows:

I am writing regarding the inconvenience I had during my stay in Flamingo Hotel on December 9th in room 917 which was booked a week before that day. Because of my business and your satisfactory service, I am a regular customer of your hotels. Yet, the last stay was quite disappointing.
As you already know, the climate of Penang, Malaysia is not often changing and is mostly warm, especially in this time of the year. I, therefore, do not bring warm clothes along. Due to this climate, the central air conditioning system of the hotel is always set to cool down the room. Surprisingly, the temperature dropped at nights during my stay. I, therefore, had to set it to heat the room, which I was not able to do as it was controlled centrally.
I asked the receptionist to have the issue taken care of. Although they promised to fix the problem, the situation remained unchanged for hours. This made me call the reception for a couple of times more. Not until did they have a technician in my room, the problem was temporarily solved. Not only did the conditioner go back on cooling after a while, but it also started leaking and wetting the floor. I had to put almost all my clothes on to keep myself warm and also use the towels to dry the floor. It was late at night when I asked the supervisor on shift to change my room to another one, however, it took even longer to do so.
I was there for a very important meeting and I was late for it. This is because I had to take care of the above-mentioned inconveniences and I slept later than I was supposed to. As you may hopefully understand, I need to ask for a complete refund on my reservation. This is the least, I believe, you can do to compensate for the unpleasant experience I had at your hotel.
Added to that, I highly recommend that you foresee problems of the same kind in order to prevent dissatisfactions like mine. Adding an internal heating system in each and every room seems to be a proper solution.
